The early settlers to Jacksonville started arriving in the 1920’s and 1930’s first as peddlers and then as permanent residents. As they settled and opened businesses, they encouraged relatives living in other cities to join them in Florida where the climate and lifestyle was more desirable. As the community grew, the idea of forming a Ramallah Club in Jacksonville first surfaced in the late 1940’s when the pioneers of our community began holding meetings and activities in their homes.

The club was formally constituted in 1953 and chartered as a cultural, social, educational, and charitable organization in 1954 with membership of 52 Ramallah-American men. The community steadily grew as well as the number of club memberships. There was a need for a permanent home for the members and they soon began a search for clubhouse property.

In 1959, our membership purchased its first clubhouse on Atlantic Boulevard. In subsequent years, a banquet/meeting hall was added and additional land adjacent to it was purchased.

In 1975, the membership purchased five acres on Parental Home Road to construct a new and modern facility to accommodate our burgeoning membership. In one of the proudest moments of our club history, our devoted members gathered one evening and one by one stepped up and donated over $50,000.00 to begin construction on our new clubhouse, which we dedicated on October 29, 1977.

Today, The Ramallah Club of Jacksonville has an active membership of almost four hundred. That can pride itself with the success and accomplishments that this community has produced over the last fifty years.
